Guidance regarding fair housing is ever-evolving and often complex. The City of Corvallis presents this free training with Diane Hess of the Fair Housing Council. Fair Housing: Advanced Topics will take a closer look at trends that those managing higher volumes of properties often encounter. Attendees will participate in both small and large group discussions around topics such as:
* Best Practices & Common Mistakes - Screening Applicants (e.g., questions to avoid)
* Protected classes (i.e. families, gender, age)
* Criminal background
* Hording
* Reasonable Accommodation (i.e. service animals)
* Harassment
Attendees should have a working knowledge of fair housing law and be prepared to engage in discussion with peers
Continuing education credits will be offered through a partnership with the Linn-Benton Rental Housing Association.
